Become a Friend of the Human Rights Education Institute
Your generous gift allows us to continue to create partnerships that strengthen our community, teach our children about the good they can do, and be a resource to our local schools.
The Human Rights Education Institute strives to broaden perspectives and create bridges for community connections. Our hope is that by providing a variety of activities highlighting the positive steps we can take together as a community, we will create a more accepting and inviting atmosphere where people feel valued for who they are now and who they can become.
We offer community education programs, including “Peace Lives Here: A Challenge for the 21st Century,” monthly women’s programs, a monthly book club and free weekly family activities. In addition to the work we do in the community, we continue to focus our efforts on local schools. We believe strongly that education is the best way to address problems facing our society today. When children learn about the good they can do by treating everyone with dignity, compassion and respect, we create a community of kindness that values everyone. We also provide quality programs for our schools to use as a resource to supplement their current curriculums.
We invite you to join us at our programs or to visit the Human Rights Education Institute to see our current exhibit featuring local artist’s depictions of Gandhi’s social sins.
